FF 58.0.2: The "how tracking protection works" reminder keeps on appearing on websites that track
Each time the tracking protection is triggered, the info bubble pops out. it's getting tedious to close it each time.

Hi jsher2000, thanks for your input. The privacy.trackingprotection.introCount preference was already set at 20 in my case. But I also noticed that FF was constantly using the CPU and accessing the disk for no apparent reason. So I started in Safe Mode and chose to refresh FF. Since then I have a browser that lives to its reputation, it is FFast. And no more Tracking Protection welcome message! So I think something got wrong in my user profile, IDK.

I've only used it in private windows, so I never noticed that before. I enabled Tracking Protection "Always" in Options, and then I saw it. But only once.
Could you check this setting:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste track and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If the privacy.trackingprotection.introCount preference has a value lower than 20 double-click it and set the value to 20, then click OK
In my very limited testing, the value jumps to 20 after one tutorial and after that it doesn't display again.
This value is saved in a file named prefs.js which stores other preferences such as your home page/startup setting.
I would expect it to be stable. Does yours reset regularly? Even during the same session, or the next time you start up Firefox?
