Just recently I've been getting this message & am asked to Retry/Enter new password/Cancel. I'm certain that all mails are arriving at T.Bird & all mails sent from T.Bird get delivered. So why the message & how can I stop it?

Could it not be that some Thunderbird Interface to BT is causing the problem?

Most unlikely.... but what about anti virus they piggy back all mail connections and like other software are not perfect. The greatest cause of mail trouble is security software. Largely because folk just do not see it as being involved.

I'm still getting this error message at random intervals. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to eliminate?

You can ask BT. It's their server causing the problem.
