AVG.com has somehow become my browser's default search engine and my malware is stating that explorer.exe contains a leak. How do I fix this?
I updated my browser to the latest Mozilla browser a few days ago. When closing Mozilla, I'm getting a message (I do not have the exact message) that a program cannot read an address and I need to click "ok" to close the program. Through observation of my Task Manager (I'm running Windows 8.1 as my o/s) the program is Firefox. Today, I ran a virus scan with my malware program and it states that I may have a leak with file explorer.exe. Plus, I have set in my Firefox settings for google to be my default browser. When I go to open a new tab in Firefox, the AVG search engine (even when I do not accept the cookies) pops up.

In reference to my earlier post stating "I updated my browser........ pops up."
Now I have two messages when I close Firefox. First message reads as follows:
"The exception Breakpoint. A breakpoint has been reached ()x8000000003) occurred in the application at location 0x67ef5fbd.
Click on ok to terminate the program."
The next message reads as follows:
"The instruction at 0x7774ce8c referenced memory of 0xffffffff. The memory could not be read.
Click on ok to terminate the program."
