Okay, so one website bad for doing this is isohunt.com; Random times if I go to the website and enter a search term the tab will just close. Other times if I enter the URL into the address bar and hit enter it will close the tab. This is very random and does happen on other websites too but isohunt is the worst. This must be some kind of bug?

Whats going on?

It happens on every version of Firefox above 10 for me.....

Also do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

So just an update on this..... I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my system and everything has been freshly installed. I am running the latest version 17.0.1.

This issue happened again today. I went to www.isohunt.com and entered a search term and right after the tab closes on its own.

Any thoughts? It's not any malware/spyware or virus.

Either way this is a bug.

Are you pressing a key combo such as Control and W perhaps?

No... What does Ctrl+W do?

more options

Ctrl+W will close the tab you have open if you accidentally press it.
