After upgrading to FF 10.0.0, I noticed the Roboform Toolbar was missing. Turns out ALL Extensions were missing - they didn't even appear in Options->Addons->Extensions. I tried the trick outlined in another thread (f=38&t=505952&start=0) to make them reappear (Make IE the default, then they show up when FF is started). I was able to enable the RF toolbar, but now FF crashes every time I try to enable another one of the previously-missing extensions (10 total, 9 remaining).

I seem to be stuck for now. I'm going to try explicitly removing and reinstalling to see what happens.

I replaced the complete Firefox profile from an identical installation on another machine (as described above), and then Firefox and all Extensions functioned properly -- except for Roboform. I reinstalled RF 7.0.1, apparently successfully (the toolbar did appear in IE), but the toolbar still did not appear in Firefox, nor did it even appear in the list of Extensions under options->addons->extensions.

Roboform Support suggested I completely uninstall everything remotely connected with Firefox AND Mozilla, which is somewhat of a nuclear option I can't accept. So, I tried to completely uninstall/reinstall Roboform.

Tada! That did it. Apparently some remnant of the old Roboform installation affected the re-installation so that the toolbar wasn't properly installed in Firefox.

Removing and reinstalling has worked for one Extension (Adblock Plus).

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available.

Thanks, cor-el. After deleting the files as you suggested, Firefox crashed every time I tried to restart it after adding one of the "lost" extensions. I think the next step is to try replacing the entire profile from a nearly-identical (Home Premium vs Ultimate) Windows 7 machine which, oddly, never had this problem. About the only difference between the 2 machines (Firefox installations are identical, other than the fact that one fails) is that the Home Premium machine (which works OK) normally runs under a non-administrator logon, whereas the Ultimate machine (which failed) runs under an Administrator logon.
