Exception Confirmation pop up
Hello everyone, Asking for a friend. No, really. She asked me to help out. I dug around the forums and found some suggestions but they haven't worked or she hasn't been able to implement them. Anyway, not too long ago, a friend of a relative offered help. This guy says the exception confirmation pop up is a scam which means that her Firebird account has been hacked/compromised. He is offering to fix it for her.
So it's a judgment call and, basically, she is wondering whether to let him work on her computer. I guess if her relative vouches for the guy, then it's okay.
Okay, judging by the forums this is a known issue, but is it a hack? That is my question.
Thank you.

It isn't an issue in the sense of being a bug. Foremost the exception prompt is a warning that something is wrong. Without any further details it is up to anyone's guess what exactly is wrong.
is it a hack?
I wouldn't want to declare it either legitimate or malicious without having seen it. Typically these warnings are legitimate, but most users have no idea what they mean. It could also be the result of an attempt to tamper with the connection. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-does-your-connection-is-not-secure-mean#w_bypassing-the-warning
