I receive an email with a few pictures attached, click on one and it opens in a separate tab. Using the top (address bar) menu, I choose "share site with...", then choose "save picture". Pictures will not appear in Photos. Using iOS 12.4 (newest available for iPhone SE) and Firefox 18.1 (App Store does not hint a newer version). Why does saving pictures not work? It's the same if I use long tap directly on the photo in the e-mail and chose "save graphics" from the pop-up menu. Please see attached pictures

I am able to reproduce it. Instead off using 'Share Page With...' > 'Save Image Image' touch and hold the image that you wish to save for about 2 seconds until a menu appears. Select 'Save Image'.

Sorry no. It was in my initial post already that this way doesn't work either. I was just translating the German menu entry by "save graphics" instead of "save image", illustrated by my initial pictures.

Are you able to save any images in Firefox e.g let's try wikipedia.org? This mail attachment issue looks like specific to Google Mail.

Actually, yes. It works from other websites. But it doesn't solve my problem. I cannot even display the photo fullscreen in Firefox to make a screenshot (see picture). That would be a workaround. Thanks for your effort anyway.

I guess it is an issue how inline images are displayed within Google's web based client. Sorry, I am don't know GoogleMail.

Instead of using the web client, you can set up your google account in Mail or Gmail app. This way you should be able to save attachment to your camera roll.
