Hello, Sorry having issues. Try reading this and confirming everything is set the way you want it : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox Have you installed anything lately when this happened ? Please check Add/Remove Programs and look for a Yahoo Program there. If there is uninstall it. Please check your Extensions/plugins to see if anything has been added there and if so remove it. Suggest a Scan with Malwarebytes AdwCleaner https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ look for anything with yahoo, if unsure of entry Google it or untick it.

Now am not completely sure here but Go to Tools --> Options the Search and click on Yahoo and then Remove it. Restart Firefox. Another way is through About:Config : Open a New Tab and enter About:Config into the Url Bar, except the risks Type in the search bar Yahoo and Click a entry and right click and Modify it, O for just Yahoo (I think) delete it from the string of search names in the other one. Save and restart Firefox. Do remember what you did so can undo any changes you made.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Sorry you're finding it hard to submit a question. If you have suggestions for how to streamline this site, please feel free to mention those.

A LOT of users have accidentally installed bad add-ons that hijack your searches to their search engine of choice. Pkshadow already mentioned checking your extensions, but let me give you more detailed steps:

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any system extensions that Firefox installs on its own are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious -- especially anything with the word search in its name? If in doubt, disable.

Sometimes a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox before the change takes effect. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?
