When I type my email address on outgoing messages instead of black how can I get email address blue automatically
When I type an email in black I like to highlight my email address in blue like I used to do with Outlook Express. This happened automatically but now with Thunderbird I have to manually change the font in order to achieve this. Is there any way that my email address why typed can automatically change to blue.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thunderbird already does this, but you will not see it in a new Write message. All links, website pages, email address, are never shown as the actual link in a New Write message because it is very difficult to manually correct/modify.
However, it does not mean it is sent in the black colour.
Open a new Write message and type some info followed by your full email address and then some more blah blah text. Save as Draft
click on 'Drafts' folder and select the email to view in lower Message Pane. Notice how the email address has now changed to blue. This is one method of seeing exactly what it would look like if you sent it.
If you then clicked on 'Edit' to open that email in a new Write message to continue typing, it should still remain in the blue. However, I would continue to type in the original email, knowing any additional saves or auto saves will show the saved text in the Draft email viewable in the Message Pane.
Hope this explains that you still have that functionality automatically and how to check. As I know it does it automatically, I've stopped checking as I've got used to it, but it is useful to know that 'Draft' saves can help in more ways than first expected.
