From https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/711025 since firefox 35, users going trough the ask-a-question flow don't need to install an extension anymore in order to submit their information from about:support, instead they can just click on a "share data" button. unfortunately "modified preferences" are no longer included as long as [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1091944 bug 1091944] is addressed... That open bug depends on [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1091942 bug 1091942] which is still unresolved and unassigned.
