Has a fix developed for Firefox 36 which BROKE Yahoo Toolbar in Windows 7 & 8 while Firefox 37 broke Yahoo Toolbar for Linux ?
Yahoo Toolbar (added from Firefox Add-ons) stopped working when I updated to Firefox 36 on both my Windows 7 & 8 computers so I RE-Installed Firefox 35 via a 3rd party download site. I didn't have the same problem on My Linux Computers until today when My Linux Computer UPDATED to Firefox 37. Now the only link which will show up on the Yahoo Toolbar is my "Mail" link.
It seems (based upon my research) that Mozilla is trying to sweep this screw-up under the carpet by blaming Yahoo, and yet they continue to display the link/add-on in their "Add-on Repository" ! Maybe Mozilla need to find a better Janitor cause the current one can't seem to See or even Smell the manure they're shoveling !
Don't get me wrong. I've been using Firefox & Yahoo Toolbar for 8+ years and been a fan of both, but I ditched Micro$oft Window$ because of Compatibility Issues within their own Software Programs. I would like to continue to use Firefox and Yahoo toolbar, But if they can't manage to work together and find a solution I WILL solve the problem by "Ditching Them Both" in favor of another provider and take all my current tech customers with me when I do. FYI, they number in the thousands.

The version on the Mozilla Add-ons site hasn't been updated since May 2014 for some reason.
The only thing Yahoo that Mozilla Firefox from mozilla.org comes with is the Yahoo search engine in the Search Bar (which is not a toolbar). Only the en-US has the Yahoo as default search engine since Firefox 34.0 as it was Google before.
The current Release of Firefox has been 37.0.1 since April 3rd.
There is no fix for previous Releases like Firefox 36.0 as it is not supported once Firefox 37.0 came out on March 31.
Also it is Yahoo that maintains the Yahoo toolbar extension and not Mozilla.
That would be 3.2.3.20140507025036. The one Mozilla has in their Current "Add-on" repository.
Why would I or anyone else NEED to look any further than that for a compatible Version for MOZILLA FIREFOX.

There are two basic issues here. 1) Reasonable Expectations , and 2) Due Diligence. It would seem that Mozilla is disregarding both by Not Updating THEIR OWN Repository.
I do appreciate the info you have provided though and will attempt to update my Linux Computers tomorrow to the newer Yahoo Toolbar version. I'll post the results HERE for others if it solves the issue (something else which Mozilla should have already done) ! ! !
James, Take note of the Screen-shot / Image Below. It clearly shows the Yahoo Toolbar "Add-on" as it has for years. Of course you may have overlooked that because when you do a search in "Add-ons" it doesn't display unless you click on "Show all 650 Results" at the bottom of the search page. then it moves it to the top of the list. I just now pulled it off Mozilla's "Add-on" Repository, just as I have for the last few years when adding it to Firefox.
And Yes I have changed my Search Engine when the "DEFAULT" was Google because I Preferred Yahoo ! But, that doesn't change the fact that the Yahoo Toolbar has been in Mozilla's "Add-on" Repository for years.
As I very much doubt that Yahoo has the authority to modify MOZILLA's "Add-on" Repository, I suspect you feeble attempt to blame Yahoo is merely a deflection tactic.

The developer of that Yahoo Toolbar add-on is responsible for submitting updated versions to the Addons website; Mozilla doesn't go looking for newer versions.

As far as the "Moderators" posts, which point the finger of blame at YAHOO, without any attempt to help solve the Issue . . . it's no wonder that Firefox struggles to maintain their Browser's Market Share. And Yes, when I see that others have had their threads closed without any attempt to resolve their problems . . . Mild Rudeness is what's necessary to get their attention, but obviously not enough to get them to post the solution for Firefox users.
Perhaps you do notice the "By Yahoo!" under the Yahoo Toolbar extension name.
It may not be obvious to everybody at first but the addons.mozilla.org is a hosting site for Extensions and also Themes (both image and complete), dictionaries, search engines etc.
The vast majority of Extensions being hosted on addons.mozilla.org are by a third-party author unless it says a author like Mozilla or Mozilla Labs.
Moderators here (unless they have Administrator tag also) are users like yourself who have been entrusted with moderator abilities.
No need to be rude as I certainly was not. Also mild rudeness does not get more attention in getting help but more likely to be ignored as volunteers spend whatever time they have to help others instead,

I just sent a question which may give support answers as to why this problem exist--Yahoo will not correct problem (It is up to Mozilla) to correct.

Hello: this is my first post,hope I am doing it properly. I am using W7pro OS and ATT DSL 3.0Mbps dl I noticed this week that I was unable to save attachments from my mail yahoo mail I could view them but no choice as to ware to save them--only choice (save to my comp.)But no ware to be found. I reinstalled v 36.0.4-preventing auto upgrade-But still had same problem. At this point contacted ATT support supervisor-we spent about 4hr working on problem--He was using your v 31.5.0--and had no problem accessing and saving attachments using remolt access on my comp. We also found using my comp.FF v 36.0.4 & v 37.0.2 browser,that we could without any problems access an save attachments--AOL mail--mail2web--& IE--Even when forwarding inaccessible mail to above sites. He informed me that (ATT mail Yahoo)only uses resources to make them compatible with--Google IE & Chrome &Apple? (basically he was saying,that they would NOT commit resources to FF--any version)BUT he was not allowed to commit.
PS: The last time I know it worked ok was 3-18-15 I have 3 comp.2 wxp pro 1 w7 pro the same problem on all 3--so feel confident not OS related-but compatible problems with FF & yahoo mail. The ATT support supervisor-was unable to determined the date they may have made changes on their site.without extensive research-which we decided wasn't worth the effort as they wouldn't look in to it. I hope someone or FF will be able find a workaround-as I do not want to use the browsers they suggest. I LOVE FF. Thank You Gary

jscher2000 posted a solution above which worked on my LINUX Machines but not my Windows 8 machine as I wasn't able to strait up download the new (2015 Version) Yahoo Toolbar cause of connection problems during the download. Sooooo, I used an alternative route (described below).
Please note: this only pertains to updating the Yahoo Toolbar in Firefox and requires the Menu bar being activated in order to access "Tools".
I installed "DownThemAll" from Firefox Add-on Site. After restarting FIREFOX, I selected "TOOLS" and selected "DownThemAll" from the drop down Menu. Since I had previously tried to download the Yahoo Toolbar download/update it appeared on the list displayed by DownThemAll . . .
so You may have to visit the Yahoo Toolbar Update site "directly" (https://toolbar.yahoo.com/?.intl=us ) and attempt the direct download , after installing the "DownThemAll" Add-on to get its link to appear.
I checked the "Yahoo toolbar update link" and clicked on the start button. "DownThemAll" then downloaded the update without issue. Finally I clicked on the completed download and opened it with Firefox. It Installed properly and upon once again restarting Firefox my Yahoo Toolbar was back and fully functional.

The add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on us.toolbar.yahoo.com.
Some users, instead of getting an install prompt, get the connection error with this extension and also LastPass. My speculation is that this is because those downloads redirect to a file on a different server:

I haven't seen an explanation for why the download is blocked for some users, but it might be a security add-on or security software.
jscher2000, I suspect it's a Firefox Issue because when I clicked on the "download/update" button on the https://us.toolbar.yahoo.com page I got a pop-up indicating that Firefox had "Blocked the download", but it gave me the option to "allow". Once "allowed" then it would begin the download . . . but end it before completion and post a "connection error" with the download site.
I even turned off my security programs and also tried it running Firefox in "safe mode" with all add-ons/extensions disabled with identical results.
To me it appeared to be a "timed-out" type issue, but with the small size of the file and my 5mb/sec. connection that explanation just didn't logically fit. After a night sleep I surmised it to be a conflict between Yahoo site and some type of Firefox security measure. That's why I decided to put "DownThemAll" in the middle. I then was able to complete the download without issue (about 2 or 3 seconds) . Upon completion of the download I merely clicked on the file. opened it in Firefox, and it "Installed" just as if I had done it through the Firefox Add-on process. A quick restart of Firefox and my Toolbar was back with all my 300+ bookmarks accessible. Yippee ! ! !
What a relief, as many of those bookmarks contain solutions for a myriad of issues just like this one.
I have updated FF to the new 39 version, Yahoo says I have the most updated version of the toolbar AND STILL THERE ARE NO BUTTONS ON THE TOOLBAR BUT THE EMAIL ONE!!!!! What is going on, is it a FF issue or a Yahoo issue? They say it's here and here says it's there... Can SOME ONE PLEASE fix this problem? I'm sorry for yelling and sorry if someone thinks this is rude, but this has been going on for what, 3 version updates now? I think it's time to fix it, don't you? Oh and I almost forgot, when I go to FF tools and view the add-ons, as soon as I click the options button of the Yahoo toolbar enable/disable....The whole thing freezes up and I have to open up task manager to end processes of FF. If I don't do this then there is no way to get out of FF at all. This is a bad issue that makes it not useable at all. With also getting a connection error when trying to download from yahoo directly.

This thread has gone off-topic twice now. That You Tube video appears to be solving an Alexa Toolbar issue from the Alexa website - not a Yahoo Toolbar fix.
