Firefox not responding to mouse input properly. Bug?

At random frequent time Firefox 10 will stop responding to mouse clicks.

I can not click inside input fields on page, also the AddressBar and FF Search Bar do not respond. When I hover my mouse over them, the "Text" mouse point appears, but when I click the input box it does not active the flashing text icon thing. If I double click the address bar, it does not select the current url as it would normally.

Flash video controls are also not click able. The play/pause button can not be clicked. The volume can not me adjusted. Full Screen can not me entered or exited (if full screen is actived before mouse input stops working).

To get the mouse input to work, so that I can type in input boxes, or use the flash player controls I must click outside of Firefox. Meaning I have to either click the Windows Taskbar, or switch to another program.

I tried to get a screen recording of this issue, but whenever I active my recording software the input fields/flash videos before responsive. Assuming this is because the recording software becomes active over Firefox. And as I noted above switching to another program then back to Firefox allows the input fields/flash videos to work again.

I thought this might be a mouse/touchpad issue; I reinstalled my Wireless Mouse software, Tried a USB mouse, and Reinstalled my Touchpad software but nothing seems to correct the issue.

I too experienced this "bug."

In the bug report that cor-el linked you ( Bug: 718939 ) you will find a link to a Patched version of Firefox 10

  • Patched Version (located in comment 40)
    • Note that this is not an Office Release.

The patched worked for me, and resolved the issue. Unaware of when an Official Fix will be released
