I'm using firefox 8.0 on linux mint X64 systerm.

I don't want to save tabs when I quit my firefox. But it ask me every time when I quit. If I checked "don't ask again" and chose save and quit, it will not ask again, but show my last tabs when I run firefox next time. If I checked "don't ask again" and chose quit, it will quit but ask again when I quit my firefox next time. It's only happened when I close a window with more than one tab.

In preference, I startup my firefox with blank tab. I'm using tab mix add-on and unchecked "warn me when close more than one tab". I also disabled this add-on, but it's not work.

In my about:config : browser.tabs.warnOnClose;false extensions.tabmix.protectedtabs.warnOnClose;false extensions.tabmix.tabs.warnOnClose;false services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.tabs.warnOnClose;false

Check the startup setting:

  • Edit > Preferences > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"

I already did it, I chose "Show a blank page"

If Firefox reopens the previous session automatically then that probably means didn't close properly the previous time and used session restore to reopen a crashed session.

Try to use "File > Quit" to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.
Also check the System Monitor to see if there are still firefox processes left after closing Firefox.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You can also try to update to Firefox 9.0.1
