Since updating to Firefox 6.0, some web pages do not load correctly. I suspect it has to do with the Java add-ons being disabled due to non-compatability. when I try to go to Tools/Add-ons, I get the "Loading" message for several minutes without change.
Update 6.0 of Firefox is useless to me because many of the web sights I visit do not appear correctly, I assume because the Java add-ons are disabled due to non-compatibility. They still appear correctly in Internet Explorer.
Also, the Trend Micro add-on is non-compatible, which does not leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling.
When I try to check to see if these add-ons might be updated, the Tools/Add-ons menu item just goes to a page with "loading" and stays there for several minutes with no change before I close it.
I would like to know the procedure to back out this version of Firefox to my previous version that was working.

Firefox 5.0/5.0.1/4.0/4.0.1, and versions prior to 3.6.20 all contain security and stability issues that will not be corrected. You are placing your system at risk by using any Firefox version other than 6.0 or 3.6.20. Anyone who posts a link to other versions is being irresponsible, in my opinion.
Java
If the incompatible extensions in Add-ons > Extensions are Java Console, you do not need them unless your do Java development. Most users do not even need them installed, but Java will install Java Console with every update. You can manually remove them:
The only thing that affects the functioning of Java sites/applets on the web is the plugin (Add-ons > Plugins) "Java(TM) Platform SE (version)". Be sure that it is enabled and that you do not have any extensions that affect/block "scripts".

You need to contact Trend Micro or go to the forums on their site to inquire about their plans to update any add-ons/toolbars that they install into Firefox.
Problem with the Add-on Manager display
The Add-on Manager gets into a loading loop due to the recent Firefox 6 update and the servers being overloaded because users and the update process are checking for Add-on updates. If you stay away from the "Get Add-ons" selection on the left of the Add-ons Manager display, you should have no problems with that. That situation should resolve when the overload of Firefox 6 updating is completed. Same problem here. Add Ons Manager will not load. 6.0 also disabled my Java and did not find a replacement. What the heck are we to do????

I did find that if you select one of the items on the left of the "loading" page, that you then can access your add-on manager...not that it does any good...they are still non-compatible.
I know why the add-ons don't work. I was told when prompted to update to version 6.0 that they were not compatible. I thought I was clicking to not do the update, but I must have mus-understood the instructions and the update proceeded, so I did not check he debugging add-on link.
I next went to the Clear Cookies & Cache tab and followed the instructions there.
Firefox whet "Not Responding" for a few minutes and then told me that the Java Script could not continue, I'm guessing this doesn't work any more, also because Firefox was updated with the non-compatible add-ons.
Decided not to go any farther.

No, it is not.
Until the add-ons are made compatible, I want to go back to the previous version of Firefox.
That is the solution I am looking for, I just don't know the procedure so as not to lose bookmarks, speeddials and passwords gathered by working add-ons

What web pages don't load properly? Your Java plugin has nothing to do with those "Java Console" extensions, which can be left disabled.
As SafeBrowser mentioned, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java#Multiple_Java_Console_extensions if you want to remove these Java Console extensions (listed in the "more system details" link)

As for the disabled Trend Micro NSC Firefox Extension, I would ask Trend Micro support when they plan to update it for Firefox 6 and while you are at it, what does it do and do you need it?
Thanks for the info on the Java Console plugins. They were not compatible and I will delete them after each Java update in the future.
The problem web site was www.foxnews.com. I got a message like "The page could not be found". Internet Explorer loaded the page without error while Firefox had problems.
However, after reading the instructions to go back to a pre-6.0 release, the problem has gone away. I did not back out 6.0 and don't believe I did anything to correct the problem. I was not trying to find the problem and was only doing things I do daily, nothing with settings or anything except browsing with Firefox.
So, the problem has resolved itself.
