Is a ARMv6 version of the newest version of Firefox 4 Mobile (not Fennec's nightly build) already in development or in planning?

I own a HTC Wildfire, and I think it's really ashame that Firefox 4 Mobile is not out for phones with an ARMv6 processor yet, only for ARMv7 processors. I'd love to try the newest version of the mobile version of Firefox, because I see many improvements since Fennec.

So I was wondering if Mozilla is already developing Firefox 4 for ARMv6 phones. These are a lot of phones, so I don't think they should be skipped.

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

If you view this "nightly/latest-" page, it looks like what I hyperlinked is the latest version, regardless of the name Fennec being used.

The build on that page was generated today.

I know there are nightly builds, or experimental ones, but as these builds a4e still called Fennec, I figured these builds are outdated. Actually, I don't know if that's true, but the title sounds like the old vwrsion.

So my question is purely if "the real deal" (Ffx 4) is coming for these phones. But if the nightly builds contain all ffx4's functions, then I apologise for being prejudiced.

Thanks for the answer anyway.

Thanks! I hadn't seen that page yet. Guess I was just scared away by the name Fennec. I'll install it later today :)

Hi there.

I've got a wildfire with froyo, does mozilla support this one ? My girlfriend have a Nokia N8, does mozilla support it ?

The Nokia N8 uses Symbian as the OS so no there is no real version of Firefox Mobile (Fennec) that will work.

We currently have no plans to develop Firefox for the Symbian platform. See Mobile/Symbian for notes from an inactive project to port Firefox to Symbian.

ok, but what about firefox for my wildfire with froyo ?

If you mean the Froyo codename for Android 2.2 then yes Fennec (mobile Firefox does support it as you need at least Android 2.0.

It is the hardware and such that may be a issue.

As for the HTC Wildfire phone. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#System_Requirements

doesn't works on my samsung galaxy 5(GT-I5503) with ARMv6 CPU.

Android System Info says ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5(v6l) BogoMIPS 599.65 Features swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp java CPU implementer 0x41 CPU architecture 6TEJ CPU variant 0x1 CPU part 0xb36 CPU revision 5 Hardware GT-I5503 Board Revision 0000 Serial 303592722fa100ec Freqency range: 245.76-> 600.0MHz Current Frequency: 600.0MHz Frequency Stats(time): -245.76 MHz 51.0%(2690009) -320.0 MHz 0.29%(15186) -480.0 MHz 0.37%(19496) -600.0 Mhz 48.34%(2549478)

The Samsung Intercept is also not supported. I would love to have a streamlined mode of access to the Internet by having my bookmarks/history synchronized between all my computers/devices.

I hope that the ARMv6 port is picked up again --- there are a lot of people with just-slightly outdated phones out there.
