Do you have around 50Gb of ram on your computer to do something meaningful with the file when you get it? v Generally the Google takeout service should be requested using the labels so you get less significant sized chunks.

Using it is really as simple as placing the file in the mail > local folders directory of your profile named without a file extension. So data. not data.mbox for example. Given how huge the file is you might find doing anything meaningful with it difficult

Note Thunderbird must not be running while doing this.

Hi,

thank you for the prompt reply. I have abut 240 GB on my MAC hard drive, so there should be enough space. Unfortunately, I had to import the entire inbox.

I was not aware that I needed to place the file in my local directory. So, once I do that, will Thunderbird recognize the file (and I do not need to use the ImportExport add-on?

thanks
