Control of bookmarks

Bookmarks is frustrating me. Perhaps I haven't understood the changes and how to use them? I set my first bookmark to go to a specific folder and after that, every single bookmark goes into the same folder. I have to go in and use the "edit" function to get the latest bookmark to the right location. What am I missing or doing incorrectly? Thanks in advance to all Gurus who answer.

Thanks. Good to know it wasn't me. Bad to know that Bookmarks in FF has become less useful and more difficult to wade through. A shame. FF used to be so user-friendly and now it seems to be bloating itself out of existence as IE has. It's starting to look like I need a different browser. One that's more user-friendly and certainly easier to manage than FF has become.

That is how it works in current releases. This last used bookmarks location is stored in a pref on the about:config page.
