How to Backup, save, retain a copy of all add ons, so I can restore them after a massive update

It's happened a couple of times, after an update, all my add ons are gone. Not even a note on what one's I had. Is there a way to backup, copy, save the add ons or a list of what one's I had?

Hi mndkurle, your question is on the Android forum. To make a list of your Android extensions, I suggest screenshotting. Open the list using

menu > Add-ons

and then use your favorite method of screenshotting on your device.

If your question is about a Windows, Mac, or Linux version of Firefox, you might want to make a backup of your profile:

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

To save a copy of your extensions list, you can screenshot or copy/paste a list on the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Scroll down past "Application Basics" and "Firefox Features" to "Extensions". Then you can select and copy the table that follows using either Ctrl+c (Mac: Command+c) or right-click > Copy and then paste it somewhere for a reference, such as an email to yourself. (In Firefox, making a wide selection including the heading above the table will give you better results than trying to select and copy only the table.)

Does that help?
