60.2 esr just updated does not load shockwave

As soon as I updated to the latest version (60.2 esr) shockwave player did not load. This worked perfect before the update.

hi, support for those proprietary npapi-based plugins has been generally dropped in firefox and other modern browsers as announced a couple of years ago already...

Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work?

Chromium, Chrome, and Opera dropped NPAPI Plugins way back in Sept 2015.

Did you actually use the Shockwave (for director) Player Plugin from Adobe for anything?. This is separate from the Flash Player Plugin.

Yes I had adobe director for shockwave also added. I use it all the time. Firefix esr previous version 60.0 worked perfect. I updated to 60.2 today and now it does not work. I have used the esr version successfully from day one until today 9/5/2018. can i revert to the previous version?

Instead of reverting you should be looking at ways to migrate away from shockwave.

Hi fflp, your previous version was probably Firefox 52.9.0esr. If you want to check on that, you can look up your recent update history on the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table on the page, there should be an Update History row with a button to open a small list box showing your most recent Firefox installations.
