On Windows 10 Enterprise (x64), I currently have Firefox 59.0 (64-bit) installed but had issues on 57.0.4 as well.

for Firefox.exe i right-click and on 'Compatibility' tab I set 'Run this program as an administrator' When I start Firefox the browser loads (to some extent), allows me to enter a URL but doesn't navigate anywhere... I also cannot close the browser and i need to kill the application. I can also expose the options menu but any selection i select nothing happens so it's like the application is crashed

If i run without 'Run this program as an administrator' everything works fine ..

I need to run as administrator in order to perform gui automation

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

When i do this I see "No crash reports have been submitted" ... I have opened the browser with or without run as administrator selected.

I called for more help.

This needs administrator access? Can that be disabled?

gui automation search https://www.bing.com/search?q=gui%20automation&pc=MOZI&form=MOZSBR

The way we kick off our automation, it's done remotely, using something similar to psExec and it's done as the administrator user

Some progress or at least some findings.. I am logged into Windows 10 as the Administrator... If i login with under a different local administrator I am able to run Firefox with the run as administrator checkbox
