My IMAP acccount for my hotmail-account was working fine until some days ago, when I started to get "timed out" messages. I deleted the accunt and tried to set it up again, which isn't working (Error message: Configuration could not be verified - is the user name or password wrong?) Password is correct (it's working in the web application) and I use the following settings: imap-mail.outlook.com, Port: 993, SSL: SSL/TLS outgoing: smtp-mail.outlook.com, port: 587, SSL: STARTTLS Any help is appreaciated!

1) When running into Outlook issues, check this page first - the issue could be temporary. 2) you could try changing the incoming and outgoing servers to outlook.office365.com and smtp.office365.com respectively, without changing your username (hotmail email) for authentication.

It was option number 2! (Already had checked 1) - forgot to say!) Thanks a lot!
