firefox will not allow me to install a plugin for my slinbox
Firefox keeps interrupting the installation of a plugin for my slingbox. How can I change this so my plugin will install without interruption?

Is it being blocked by an antivirus or a Firewall ?
Firefox is blocking it not the firewall!
Turn Firefox off before installing plugins. The installers for plugins that I use tell me to do that anyway.
How do I do that when I have to install it using the internet?
Download the installer, then turn off the browser before you run it.

Under Removing the plugin it mentions looking in the Extensions tab of the Add-ons manager, so that plugin installs as an extension, so Firefox does have to be open to install that "plugin".
