How to get back deleted bookmarks that were restored & put into a file?

My firefox was having problems last night but I fixed it except in the process I accidentally deleted the file completely (I emptied the trash bin - I have a macbook pro if that helps) which had my files from when I restored my firefox. After fixing my firefox I opened it & realized all my history / bookmarks were gone. I googled it and it said the files could still be there even after emptying the bin, but I have no clue how to get them back. I would love to have my history & bookmarks back since it's everything from the past 2-3 years!

I'm not promising anything, but http://www.wondershare.com/disk-utility/recover-trash-mac.html might help.

Recovering deleted files is tricky. The more you use the computer, the more likely the files will be overwritten with new information. Recovery software like this can restore the files, but not all the time, and sometimes it corrupts.

What file() did you delete?

Only specific files or the entire Firefox profile folder?

Do you still have the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder?

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

If you use the Time Machine then try to restore the file(s) from that backup.
