Help I can't set up sync due to one device not recognising my account

Hi, I have a laptop and a new Windows Surface. I'm trying to sign into my FF account but it won't let me. My login for this account is jayneperry but on my tablet it has to be an email address. I have tried password reset several times as I couldn't work out why I couldn't login on my tablet until I realised my login isn't my email address. Can anyone help please? Thanks, Jayne

Update, I have created a new account and can login on both devices. I seem to have so many accounts for Mozilla!?
