why is every web page only on the right side of my screen?

Every time I open fire fox browser web sights only appear on the right side of my screen. I am using a flat screen tv as my screen so there´s plenty of room. All text etc on the right is cut off and on the left side there is a third of the screen blank.

Do you have the side bar open (View > Sidebar)?


  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Reset the page zoom on websites that look wrong: "View > Zoom > Reset" (Ctrl + 0 (zero)) See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages

Hi, thanks for the help. No I don´t use the sidebar. I tried the reset it helped a bit but a lot is still cut off. Maybe fire fox is just not the browser for me.

The same problem happened to me a couple of years ago and it was caused by one of the Themes I have installed. You might want to troubleshoot your Themes and Extensions to see if one of them causing this problem:
