Hello, I'm using both orange mail and Thunderbird. Usually I first get my mails thourgh Orange mail, then they appear on my thunderbird mail box and simultaneously disappear from my Orange mail box, but today, after I saw them on Orange, they seem to have disappeared and are nowhere to be found on my thunderbird box.

Does anyone have any clue and could help me with this ?

I'm talking about 100 business e-mails, so that's a real big problem for me, and a terrible way to start the New Year...

Thanks a lot for your help and advice.

I presume that you are using the POP protocol for your Orange email account. Maybe you deleted those business email inadvertently in the Orange webmail ? Did you contact the Orange email services ?

In the meantime: in Thunderbird right-click on the Orange account's Inbox (in French "Courrier entrant") > Properties > Repair Folder. If this doesn't help verify if those 100 emails are in the Trash folder. Do you use mail filters? Did you activate the "Quick Filter"? How big in MB or GB is your Inbox folder?

Hello, Thank you very much for your answer.

Please find my answers below.

I presume that you are using the POP protocol for your Orange email account. Yes

Maybe you deleted those business email inadvertently in the Orange webmail ? No, they disappeared as they usually do once my thunderbird is open.

Did you contact the Orange email services ? Yes, they told me they couldn't do anything since according to them it is a Thunderbird problem.

In the meantime: in Thunderbird right-click on the Orange account's Inbox (in French "Courrier entrant") > Properties > Repair Folder. I have tried this solution but it didn't change a thing.

If this doesn't help verify if those 100 emails are in the Trash folder. Nothing in the Trash folder

Do you use mail filters? No

Did you activate the "Quick Filter"? The "Quick filter" seemed to be on, but I don't remember having activated, and once desactivated it hasn't changed anything.

How big in MB or GB is your Inbox folder? 3,4 Go

And just one last detail : as weird as it seems, I believe these mails did appear in my thunderbird box before disappearing.

Thank you so much for your help.

3.4 GB equivalent of several thousand emails are not really hopeful news for an Inbox folder disorder. The corresponding Inbox file in the Thunderbird profile is the one with most trafic: new messages downloaded, messages deleted or archived or moved to other folders, this file is constantly rewritten and exposed to potential damage. Retrieving "disappeared" messages is the most challenging help, it's like searching a needle in a haystack. Il me semble que vous êtes en France.
