Video on certain sites stops working after about an hour of Firefox usage

Hello,

Since the last update, I've been having an issue where after about an hour or two of using firefox (it varies), video players on some websites will stop working. I've noticed that Tumblr and TikTok's video players are affected by this. Restarting firefox fixes it, but it's very annoying to restart firefox every couple of hours, and seems like a problem.

The following things didn't fix it: clearing my cache, disabling my addons one by one, turning off hardware acceleration, trying to watch the video in a private window, or reinstalling firefox. I don't know what's left to try.

Please advise, thank you!

Hey,

I am actually having the same issue. I have noticed it happens when I am playing a video, any video on any site, if I change my sound output device while they are playing. If they are playing sometimes FF will crash, but even if the video is stopped when switching they will still lag after pressing play following switching the device. It's very frustrating.

The only other browser I have on my PC is Edge and I can basically confirm that this isn't an issue in that browser.

OP not sure if you have also noticed any connection to your sound output device? I swap frequently between headphones, speakers, and my stereo amplifier.

Similar issue here. It's extremely annoying to diagnose as disabling addons requires you to refresh a page, but most of the sites with video issues are "infinite feed" websites ala Twitter/ Tumblr/ Tiktok so refreshing the page resets me to the top of the feed and the problem video is lost. Trying to open Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode doesn't work either as it restarts firefox, which resets the timer for another hour. Opening the links in chrome or playing them through an embed (i.e. posting the link in Telegram to view) works fine, And when youtube videos stop playing after hitting pause I've noticed changing the video quality works, but it's getting really frustrating being told to clear the cache and cookies every time i leave the browser open for more then an hour.
