When I imported my bookmarks from my MS browser they were all organized in folders just like they were in MS browser. Now when to go to export Firefox bookmarks I get them listed in sorted order missing there organized folders. This is not acceptable. Need to have them exported grouped in there folders. How can I get this accomplished?

Although Firefox creates an HTML document as its basic export format (Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks), it does not include any style rules to lay out the page, so it looks flat. However, the structure is in there. If you want to see folders indented to show the hierarchy, you can add a style rule by opening the file in a text editor such as Notepad or Wordpad. You can paste the following between the <TITLE> and <H1>:

<style type="text/css">
dl dl {margin-left:0.5in;}
</style>

(What that does is indent any dl (definition list) element that is within another dl element (i.e., nested folder) by half an inch.)

You might want to use File > Save as to avoid damaging the original file.

Bookmarks online have always been a valuable conversation. Think Delicious, Google bookmarks, fill in the blank.

But to this date in the history of internet no one gives the option to dependably export ONE folder of bookmarks ('favorites' in IE) to pass on to friends by providing an online display of the folder. IF they do, the online utility can't handle passing on a bookmark folder with another bookmark folder within it. I want to publicly share one folder with only a handful of more folders within it (8kb size) on Pearltrees.com and they flipped-out and rejected the folders and listed only the hyper links. Its 2015!

Doesn't any web browser think of this population? Quick bookmark folder displays and sharing? God forbid they're graphic and attractive.

As it is I had to export my bookmarks out of Mozilla Firefox and import them into Internet Explorer just to extract the specific folder.

And no- Pearltrees wiggled out of importing 'bookmark folders' by saying they do not provide "that level of granularity" with their bookmark service (but want you to go "Premium" as quickly as you can.)
