Firefox has had a slowdown on youtube starting today. I can even click on the videos the stuttering is so bad. It just kinda hangs. Also, it seems to deselect/reselt the firefox window quickly over and over again with something else open. Embedded videos seem to crash when i play them. However, chrome has no problem at all.

Not: I Did a "Reset" and that did not help at all. Still a problem.

Also, just tried liveleak. It seems as though it is a problem with flash itself.

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I've done all those steps including http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html.

And it doesn't work. It's been like this for half a year now if not a whole year.

Have you updated to version 12.0?

Yes. And i've done a clean install using Adobe Flash Uninstaller. Made a new Firefox profile. I've done all of those things to no avail.

HI Klappis, my apologies for the annoying questions. If you go to the about:support page and look at the Graphics section, what is the GPL license version for your computer?

Did you update the Windows driver from the Device Manager on the Computer? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../update-driver-hardware-isnt-working-properly#update-driver-hardware-isnt-working-properly=windows-vista they also suggest to see if the drivers are compatible here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/window.../Home?Language=en-US

Strange i don't find any mentioning about GPL under the graphic cards section.

I updated the drivers through AMD's site.

Hey there was a warning sent out for Windows

Yesterday, Adobe released an "out of band" update to Flash to address a critical security vulnerability.

The updated versions are:

12.0.0.44 (Windows & Mac) 11.7.700.261 (Windows & Mac)

I hope you were not affected by this, but as we troubleshoot this issue please check if this is the version you are currently on for flash in the new profile.

With ATI graphics, disable AMD OverDrive corrects all Stuttering/freezing on youtube!

That's a load of bull! It has nothing to do with AMD whatsoever. It's Firefox causing the stuttering. Doesn't matter what spec your computer have.

Watching youtube on IE works like a charm!

I don't see any GPL-license but the Web GL renderer is Google if it's that what you mean?
