FF4 not compatible with HP Simple Pass - where can I download 3.1.6?
My laptop is equipped with a fingerprint scanner which works with HP Simple Pass ID protection software to store and populate login and password data for applications and websites.
Simple Pass does not recognise login pages for which it has data stored when they are opened in FF4. It workled fine with the previous version, and still does with IE.
Really liking FF4, so hope there is a fix on the way soon. Otherwise, please can I have a link to download 3.1.6?
HP Simple Pass (by Digital Persona) version 5.00.140a on Windows 7 Professional fully up to date.

This is the correct procedure to revert to a previous version.
- Go to Download Firefox v3.6.16 and download it to the desktop.
- Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
- Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- Finally run the installation file you downloaded earlier.
Digital Personas is out of the fingerprint reader software business as of 4/19, there will be no update for either IE9 or Firefox 4 or subsequent versions.
See if this extension works for you.
Fingerfox (SE)

Or maybe this version from the author's website.

Thanks for this, but sadly it didn't help. DP / HP SimplePass doesn't recognise logon pages when they're opened in Firefox 4. Pity...
I notice HP has released this package themselves: HP SimplePass

Version: 6.5.5.18
How is a version of SimplePass that was released over a year ago going to help with Firefox 4.0?
Yes, that won't help, and I'm not sure it's compatible with my HP product anyway.
Seems to me it's the Digital Persona Extension 5.0.0.4375 that needs to be updated for Firefox 4, rather than the DP application itself..?
I guess the only hope of a solution is via the Digital Persona SDK
@ the-edmeister, it states on the HP site that the product works with all versions of Windows OS and that no other specific applications are required for the product to function correctly.
That being the case, one could call on HP for support in order to get their product to work with FF4.
In that respect, HP usually keeps abreast of the times and would likely be aware of issues concerning certain browsers.
