Hello Allen.

Can you be a bit more specific? I'm not sure I understand what you mean...

In any case, if this is a Windows related issue, you should ask Microsoft's support instead.

To which shortcut are you applying that keyboard shortcut?

I've seen occasions when applying a shortcut key to a desktop shortcut doesn't work, but applying the shortcut to the Firefox program in Start > Programs or on the Quick Launch toolbar does work.

Thank you Morbus and Cor-el, for your prompt replies. Here's what I did: I've placed the Firefox icon in the quick launch toolbar. So I right-click this firefox icon>Properties>Shortcut tab>in Shortcut Key field, add X (the word "None" changes to "ctrl + alt + X")>Apply>Okay>and that closes the dialog window.

Then, to try the new launch short-cut, I press and hold down, in order, ctrl, then alt, then x (holding all three down) . . . and nothing launches.

I thought this would do it! So any further thoughts would be a splendid help ---- many thanx!

Try to press the full shortcut key command Ctrl+Alt+X You can also try a different shortcut to see if that works.

Cor-el --- perhaps I needed to clarify. I pressed and held them in sequence, just to be sure that fat-finger syndrome was not involved. But I also pressed them simultaneously. And I've tried it with other letters.

What am I missing? Thanx . . .
