Hi there, I`m using Thunderbird for a year now and I was pretty happy with it. Then a couple of weeks ago I made the mistake to do an update. Since then all PDF-Attachments are opened in Chrome. Thunderbird doesn`t care anymore what program you set in the attachment settings. It only uses Chrome to open PDFs. Then I deleted the "actions" for PDFs in the settings to try to make new ones. But now they are gone and theres no button like "add new rule/action"!?

Does anybody know a solution to this?

Thank you

Hello

when you have deleted an action, it's recreated automatically when you double click an attachment. Now why are people deleting actions when it's possible to configure them, this is a problem for which I have no solution.

I deleted the actions because configuring them didnt change anything. So I hoped by deleting/resetting them, thunderbird let me change it

Well, there is always the option 'use other..' that can let you choose the best application available on the system. If there is none that fits your needs, Thunderbird can't really invent one. By the way, did you call 'open in Chrome' the option 'Preview with Thunderbird' ? because if it's that, it is not involving Chrome at all.

Yea, that option I used and choose acrobat reader but thunderbird ignored that change and opened it still in chrome. after I deleted it it asked me and then I chose acrobat and it seems that thunderbird has remembered it.
