Retreiving Android Bookmarks
Hello: Gosh I can't figure out where Firefox stores my synced bookmarks from my Android Phone. Is this on a Firefox server I can access to edit or review them?
I'm only using sync on Firefox android to save my bookmarks in case I delete one off my phone. Note: These bookmarks are completely different and unique compared to my PC desktop Firefox. I don't want to "mingle the two"
Thanks

Hi Mike
It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.
If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of this article.
If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.

I think I thought this through a bit more. I probably have to sync my desktop to see the android bookmarks.
The issue is that I simply want to store/backup the android bookmarks and not have a combination of both desktop and android bookmarks. Separate bookmarks for separate devices.
Perhaps this is not possible
Hi
It is worth noting that Frefox Sync is not online storage. It is designed to port bookmarks (and passwords) from one device to another.
Hi Seburo:
Thanks for the reply. Somehow I thought that ff android bookmarks would be stored on a server and then I could retrieve them if necessary...for instance a reinstall of FF android. Is that not the case and it is only between devices ?
Please clarify

Thanks again Seburo. Good explanation. Hopefully in the future FF for Android will have a way to export and save bookmarks.
