I have installed Ubuntu v14.04 on my laptop. When I try to sync Firefox it asks me to log in to my account. Entering my email address and password I am told that it is an unknown account. When I try to reset my password, I am again told it is an unknown account using my email address.

When I go to the sync setting on my desktop, there is no account information under "manage my account"

I know that I have a sync account for my desktop, the laptop using Win7 and my phone and tablet.

1. Are all your devices running Firefox 28 or older? Firefox 29 and later have a new version of Sync, which isn't backwards compatible with earlier versions of Firefox. Once a Sync account has been updated to the new version, that account is no longer accessible by a device using a pre-29 version.

That might be why your account is "unknown", but I'm not positive of that.

2. There is no account information, nor are you able to "manage" on a device that isn't setup yet.

I have V29 on my desktop and I assume the Ubuntu version is up to date since I just installed it today.

I've reset my password, but trying to sync on Ubuntu brings up the "unknown account' error.
