can't log-in my gmail account

more options

hello. Didn't use my computer for almost half a year and it doesn't want to log-in to gmail. Last time I used it everything worked properly. Still works perfect on Android wit the same wifi network or Internet explorer on the same computer. But in firefox the loading bar freezes at about 2%. Already deleted cookies and cache - didn't help. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Regards, Alex Butko

In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test Gmail in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled (Flash and other plugins still run)

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

In some cases, you need to exit and restart Firefox again before the disabling takes effect. Usually, a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox in that case.

Two of the other effects of Safe Mode are:

  • Use of hardware acceleration is disabled, which works around incompatibilities with your graphics card driver software. This seems like a longshot.
  • The JavaScript compilers are disabled. Since Gmail is a script-heavy site, this could be more relevant. I'm not sure of the best way to determine what to turn off, though. Hopefully another volunteer will have a suggestion.
