When I am watching a video, in example this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jKylhJtPmI and trying to change the quality to 720p (from 480p) the video stops and the quality is set to 240p. I cannot continue the video in any way except for refreshing the page. I am using the HTML5 version of youtube.

The problem occurs after restarting with addons disabled. At chrome, changing the quality works as expected. Using Ubuntu 12.10, 64bit

Dear, Everyone who cares. I've had the same solution on and off for weeks, and I have just now found my solution. Try LOGGING OFF. Something in the account settings was doing it for me, but Logging off of my youtube / gmail account fixed this problem.

Spread the word.

On many videos, only the first few quality options are visible (and still not selectable). Opening the same video on chrome will show all the options, and each one works fine.

I tried to turn of hardware acceleration, but there is no way to uncheck the box after opening the settings. This is a common problem: https://encrypted.google.com/search?hl=en&q=firefox%20flash%20cant%20click%20settings
