Unable to scroll to beginning of Youtube sub list
I used to be able to scroll to the bottom of my Youtube subscription list, to see the very first posted videos of all of my subscriptions, going back to the first days of Youtube in 2005. Granted, not all of the videos would show up, and I don't know if that is a Youtube problem or a Firefox problem, but most of the videos would be there. Now, after going back less than a year in the archive, the scrolling just kind of peters out. Firefox becomes unresponsive to any key press or mouse click, and all I can do is quit the program. What has changed? Has Firefox gotten even worse at memory management? it was always a total pig with memory, but has it reached the point where it just plain malfunctions and can't recover? If that is the case, then Firefox devs had better get their spit together and work on optimization. I really don't want to have to start using Edge, thank you, no. I only use Edge to view PDFs.

The last time I scrolled to the beginning was before my previous laptop died on July 17. After seeing that my current Firefox version was being reported, I went to check, and found that the version 115 installed was 32-bit. I had downloaded the Firefox installer for this new laptop but only assumed that the 64-bit version was being installed. Since July I have been using 32-bit Firefox. I just downloaded the 64-bit full installer of version 118, installed it, and was able to scroll back to the earliest subscribed videos just as I had in the previous computer. Why the short installer decided to install the 32-bit version into this computer, I do not know. All I can recommend is that, if it appears Firefox is having some sort of memory problem, overflow, overload, whatever, check to see if the 32-bit version has been installed into a 64-bit OS. PITA. Thanks.

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?
Troubleshoot mode does not eliminate the behavior. I press End to scroll down as far as possible at once fifty-nine times, at which point Youtube becomes unresponsive. There may be placeholder thumbnails in the window unpopulated by images. Firefox does not respond to further commands except to close that tab or to close the program. I tried scrolling to the beginning of my Subscriptions in Edge and was able to get there without unusual delay. It takes about ten minutes or more but it works. It used to work in Firefox the same way. Now, Firefox just jams up somewhere between one and two years into the past.
Does it still happen in a new profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
Refreshing Firefox does nothing to change the problem.
Can you remember the last version when this worked? Since your version is reported as 115.3.1, that would suggest you are on the ESR channel and you recently updated from version 102?

The stub installer will choose the 32bit version if you have less than 2GB of RAM or have Lenovo OneKey Theater or Lenovo Energy Management installed which cause issues with the 64bit version.
My laptop has 32GB of RAM and is an MSI GS77, not in any way related to any Lenovo product.
Can you remember where you downloaded the installer from?
Does the current stub installer still install the 32bit version for you?
I downloaded the stub installer from the Mozilla.org Download Firefox page. Since I have the 64-bit version working now, I don't feel like experimenting to see if the 32-bit will be installed. It already happened once. There is no reason to expect it to work differently a second time.
