Firfox for the past month has been real slow and I've reinstalled it to default but that hasn't helped, safe mode woks fine
About a month ago, Firefox started taking about twice as long to load pages, but Microsoft Edge is working fine, so it isn't my internet connection or modem. I uninstalled Firefox and cleaned out the registry with CC Cleaner and reinstalled Firefox without any themes or add ons and refreshed it. It is still slow. Then I started Firefox in safe mode and it worked great. Then I restarted Firefox and I made sure all of the settings were exactly the same as in safe mode, again with no themes or add ons and it is still very slow.

Microsoft just did an update and now Firefox is working properly. My problems with Firefox have been going on for the past month which was probably caused by the update a month ago, so the problem wasn't with Firefox, but with the previous Windows update.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or it could be Hardware Acceleration. How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All Of them.
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.
Again, I have no themes or add ons. I redownloaded and refreshed Firefox so it is set to all default settings with no add ons or themes. I made sure all of the settings were exactly like in safe mode which works perfectly, so I would think there should be no difference between my copy of Firefox and safemode which really puzzles me.
What about Hardware Acceleration?
