Error when trying to download emails
I am getting this error message... This only started today.
"The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.googlemail.com responded: Invalid credentials."
Background... I have 3 x G-Mail addresses and was not able to get emails (starting today). I am using the latest version of Thunderbird -91.10.0(64bit) - so it "should" have been updated to the 0Auth2 settings, but it was not, so I did it manually (today). But now, with only ONE of the email accounts, I am getting the above error. All other settings are the same as the other 2 accounts and they are downloading, with no problems... Can you help in some way? Thanks Steve K

To any who read this, I have solved the problem myself by *re-doing* something I thought I already did - obviously not thoroughly enough.... . I removed ALL passwords (for this account only) from the saved passwords; list shut down and restarted Thunderbird. I was prompted to sign into the G-Mail account and allow Thunderbird to access it. This time it worked. It is possible there were conflicting passwords, as there was still an old one stored in the list (why? I don't know). Removing ALL for this account - and starting again, has done the trick. Maybe this will help someone else in the same boat. Cheers

My Gmail POP and SMTP stopped working today as well. I updated to Thunderbird 91 and changed the following settings:
1. Select the `Account Settings` menu item from the `Tools` menu.
2. Click on your Gmail account and choose `Server Settings`.
3. Change the `Authentication method` pop-up menu to `OAuth2`.
4. Click on your `Outgoing Server`. Click the `Edit` button and change the `Authentication method` pop-up menu to `OAuth2`.
That solved the problem for me.
Hi arandor I already did that to all 3 of my G-Mail accounts (as stated in my call for assistance). It 'seemed' to have worked: However - only on ONE of them, I am getting this new error... Doesn't seem to be related. The other TWO accounts are working as they should; and the settings are all the same for each account. Cheers
