Phosphate InLine not displaying on Firefox Browser
Hi there
Thank you so much for looking at my question.
We've noticed that Phosphate Inline is not displaying properly on Firefox, when it is on other major browsers.
The font creater says that the font is supported by Firefox 3.5 browser onwards.
I've attached screen grab on firefox and another major browser.
Are you able to assist please?
Thanks
Jon

Here are the screen grabs
Hello jonjhale,
The font looks just fine when I load that page, so I want to ask you to try this please :
Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promis to be careful, if asked)
Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled
And make sure that its value is set to true.
If you had to change the value, then close and restart Firefox.
Another thing to check :
Options => General => under "Languages and Appearance" => Fonts & Colors => Advanced : select "Allow pages to choose their own fonts"
'Hope that helps ......
The Network Monitor shows that this Phosphate font is send as phosphate.ttc (TrueType Collection) A Google search shows that Firefox doesn't support TTC fonts. That is the reason that Firefox falls back to another font.

Remarkable, cause like I mentioned before : the font looks just fine when I visit vibrantvegan.co.uk ......
I see this message in the Web Console:
downloadable font: rejected by sanitizer (font-family: "phosphate" style:normal weight:400 stretch:100 src index:0) source: https://vibrantvegan.co.uk/sites/all/themes/custom/Pureandhearty/fonts/phosphate/Phosphate.ttc
bug 1529652 - Support TrueType/OpenType collection (.ttc, .otc) fonts in @font-face

@ cor-el :
I don't get that message in the Web Console.
Maybe it works just fine for me because I'm a vegan ......
But seriously : for me the font looks just like it does in
Johnjhale's first screenshot.

Thank you so much for your assistance. Both were actioned for me, but I still don't see phosphate in Firefox Quantum. Does Firefox need to be your default browser maybe in order to benefit from all the font displays options ? Thanks again Best Jon
I owe you (and cor-el) an apology - big time !
While I was thinking all this time that I like the font as shown in your second screenshot way better - I just now noticed that that is not Firefox in that screenshot ......
(going to find myself a rock to crawl under now .... )

A TTC file is a TrueType collection format that allows to store multiple font files in one collection file, so the server only needs to send one file to have all the font variants. current Firefox releases (and current Nightly builds) do not yet support this collection format and thus verifying this file by the font sanitizer fails. I notice another font send by this website as a TTC file.

There was an enhancement bug created by one of the developers that is currently not being worked on, so it is not possible to tell how long this will take.
