I have a number of gmail accounts. I opened a G-Suite account but it was not what I needed. Now when I go to gmail.com only the G-Suite account is offered, it is not possible to get to any other account. Other users of the same G-Suite account have the same problem.

I solved the problem in Opera by clearing all browsing history. The problem does not occur in Chrome or Edge (probably because I never used them to access G-Suite account).

I have reinstalled Firefox and cleared all History (5 items) and Data (2 items) but the problem persists. Using a Private Window is no different.

A Google Search on the problem shows it is common ...

I think you have solved it, (B) Firefox's password manager.

On opening "Saved Logins" GSuite account was there. The only one, not sure how as I never allow this - the old fat fingers.

Thanks You.

Here's what google says: "admin.google.com is for G Suite accounts only. Regular Gmail accounts cannot be used to sign in to admin.google.com."

If you having issue with the accounts you need to contact Gmail Support on this.

Thanks for the comment. I raised this problem only after chat with Google tech support. See more recent email from Google (below). Have not yet looked at the video. My key point is that in other browsers, to Google's point, removing cookies etc did solve the problem, but not in FF.

"Hello xxxx,

Thanks so much for your email. Right now, I can still say that this is a browser related issue.

Please try this advanced troubleshooting step to clear out firefox data - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSUjeWsFTgE. Thanks!

Sincerely,

xxxxx Google Cloud Support"

Hi grahamht, when you open the Gmail page and then the Google account sign-on page, there are only a few ways that a particular account could appear:

(A) A cookie -- but you cleared all your Google cookies, right?

You can clear those here if you're not sure:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click "Privacy & Security".

Then on the right side, scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section. Click the "Manage Data..." button. Here you can type goog into the search box to filter the list and then remove cookies/data related to Google. Make sure to click the Save Changes button before closing this dialog (if you don't see that button, zoom out by holding down Ctrl and tapping - a couple times, then close and re-open Manage Data and try again).

(B) Firefox's password manager (saved login for the GSuite address)

You can clear that here:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click "Privacy & Security".

Then on the right side, scroll down to the "Forms & Passwords" section. Click the "Saved Logins" button. Here you can remove anything related to that account which Firefox might be trying to fill on Google.

(C) An add-on that triggers Google to become aware of your old GSuite account, for example:

  • Add-on password manager
  • Add-on email notifier

Can you rule out all of those?
