Hello all, I am very confused and disappointed with using Firefox dealing with outdated plugins. Everytime I go to the plugin manager, I can easily see that there's a link that said "Update now". I was expecting to take me to the plugin's website prompting me to download the latest plugin, instead, I was redirected to one of your site that described why the plugin was blocked.

So in short, when I clicked on Update Now, I was expecting to go to a link from adobe website for the flash plugin, instead I was redirected to this website instead - https://blocklist.addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p178

Now can anyone tell me if this is a issue between linking to the correct website or just simply misunderstanding the word "Update Now"?

I also happen to find this link below very misleading; The instruction clearly stated that there's suppose to be a button that said "Update", but where exactly? On that webpage? In a different form window? In another website page? Please make this instruction more clear and understandable. - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/?utm_source=firefox-browser&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_campaign=plugincheck-update

Regards, Regretful.

Currently the api does not automatically update extensions that are managed by third parties. However, addons update not problem.

I understand the confusion here and we are looking to improve the verbiage here.

In the meantime, plugins do need to be updated this way, and stay tuned for updates.

It is now 7-13-15

the "update now" needs to be changed to "why its blocked" for third party, So that it reflects what the link really is. This is beyond annoying for something so obviously "defective in your face bugs".

This is just plain lazy programing in my view. It should not be that hard to change the wording on the blue link.

with the flash updating so frequent, why not put an address to adobe update page that can be pasted if you do not want to link directly to it. as far as I know it does not change.

If your unwilling to do that then give us the option to "temporarily remove" your blocking of older addons at our discretion.(that way we can at-least finish our session and not loose our place running around trying to update add ons that your blocking .) By not giving us the override of your block, your telling us we are stupid. By making decisions on our behalf even if we disagree with you for whatever reason..

This way of thinking on mozilla staff, treating us like infants who can't think for themselves, is seriously making me reconsider my long standing loyalty to mozilla.

Also the ignoring of your own mission statement on privacy. Want my loyalty then show me loyalty.
