Can't open same page in another tab
When I'm on a web page, for example "Aftonbladet.se", and then open a new tab and type "aftonbladet" in the address bar on the new tab, it won't let me choose "Aftonbladet.se" as a link, but it tells me to "Switch to tab" ("Växla till flik" in Swedish). If I hold the mouse pointer on the "Swith to tab"-link and press "Alt", the "normal link" shows up and I can press "Enter" and it will open the web page in the new tab. But I want the "normal link" to be there all the time (like it was before my cat stepped all over the keyboard).
I have already tried resetting Firefox. I tried adding screencaps of the problem but they won't upload.

There, I managed to upload the screencaps.
The left image is the "Switch to tab"-link (Växla till fliken) and the right image is the "normal link".
Please help me!

Hello, You can use the following add-on: Switch to tab no more. This add-on disables switch to tab function. Hope it helps.
Thank you, that worked!
Note that you can hold down the Alt or Shift key while an entry in the drop down list is highlighted to disable "Switch to tab" and see the URL of all entries instead.
- Alt + Enter opens the highlighted URL in a new tab.
- Shift + Enter opens the highlighted URL in the current tab.
- Cursor Right copies the highlighted URL to the location bar in case you want to edit it.

Yes, I knew about the Alt + Enter option. Thank you for the information on the rest. However, the add-on works better for me since I wanted a permanent solution without having to hold down keys every time. But, thank you anyways!
