Since I will ALWAYS use Kaspersky URL Advisor, how can I stop Mozilla from CONSTANTLY requesting me to update Firefox, which i WON'T do till it works w/Firefox?
I am VERY happy after I was FORCED to uninstall the latest version of Firefox in order to regain my use of Kaspersky URL Advisor. That is one of the main reasons I have bought Kaspersky and I will NOT allow it to be disabled by the "new" Firefox browser. I also use Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, and while I like the convenience of Firefox .... I will STOP using Firefox if this constant barrage of insisting I update to the newest Firefox does not cease, as in STOP bothering me with something that I will NOT do.
If you want me and others to start using the "new" Firefox .... FIX it so that it works with Kaspersky URL Advisor!
Writing that it is the problem of Kaspersky not lonly does not solve the problem, but LOSES me and others to you browser.

FINALLY the problem has resolved! I won't write "solved" because the original problem still exists >
I now have my beloved Firefox 32.0.3 back!!! Mobile Partner had been having trouble, and in correcting the problem, the last System Restore also restored 32.0.3 !
So I am still getting demanding-"requests" to "Upgrade" to the new Firefox .... but after ALL this troublesome "nonsense" [and here I am being very polite!!], I have at least learned that it is FAR better to be bothered by these "requests" but to STILL be able to have and USE Kaspersky URL Advisor!
Long Live Firefox 32.0.3, and I gratefully thank the software engineers who created that version! Whomever was involved with the Kaspersky URL Advisor-incompatible "Upgrade" should be ashamed! I can only guess it has more to do with some competitive thing than with actually helping Firefox users!
PLEASE request Firefox Software Engineers to provide a workable go-around to allow the Upgrade [and to SeaMonkey, etc.!] to be compatible with Kaspersky URL Advisor. When THAT is accomplished MANY Firefox users will be more than satisfied.

It is not the job of Firefox browser to be made compatible with the thousand of Extensions out there but the other way.
Firefox Extensions that work with say antivirus clients and such need to be compiled for each new major Firefox release unlike with majority of extensions that will likely still work fine with each new Release.
Kaspersky is well to be polite often slow in updating their extensions for Firefox while some others has been better. Especially Norton which got their act together and has been able to provide updates for their toolbar extension within a couple days of a new major Firefox release ever since Firefox 5.0
hello airider, it's always the task of the extension developer to keep an addon compatible with new versions - mozilla cannot update third-party code. firefox is released on a fixed 6-week schedule and test versions are made available months in advance so this should be no surprise to any developer - you're a a customer paying kaspersky for that service, so please to contact their support channels about this issue. other AV providers like norton are able to release updates for their addons always in time. firefox 34 shipped with fixes for multiple critical security vulnerabilities, so you should update as quickly as possible: https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html if you don't want to do that due to the addon incompatibility, then you're better off using other browsers.

and even when Mozilla CLAIMS it is not their responsibility, Mozilla has the power to stop continually harassing me to update! It is MY computer and I trust Kasspesrsky much more than Mozilla.
STOP asking me to update. Instead, send me a short message that the problem is finally solved and Kaspersky URL Advisor will work with the latest Firefox .... only then will I update!

You can stop Firefox from trying to update by typing about:config into the addressbar, and finding "update". Set these settings: app.update.auto -> false app.update.enabled -> false app.update.silent -> false
I was very careful [I am a physicist & engineer, and helped my wife get her CS degree and become a Group Leader Software Engineer at Microsoft Redmond]. Doing the above totally screwed up Yahoo Mail, made it unusable and I had to use System Restore, because toggling back to "true" did not help!
The problem still exists.
But I did pass on the Mozilla comment above to Kaspersky.com, incl. a Russian translation! [Google Translate]
Does this issue have anything to do with the deteriorated USA-RU relationship? I am in Switzerland and feel "caught in the middle"!
airider it should be obvious enough that neither philipp or I work for Mozilla as we are users who have been trusted with moderator abilities also. I know you are frustrated with Kaspersky being slow to update but there is no need to take it out on us or Mozilla.
As I said the Kaspersky are not like the majority of Extensions that are not needing a update Tab related ones are ones can need a update occasionally. The need to be updated by Kaspersky for the new major version firefox.exe is why.

OK, now I can't even open Firefox; i get a message saying "can't load XPCOM"
AND I cannot uninstall Firefox either! Even the manual "help" doesn't show a window or the uninstall wizard.
I am now being forced to "upgrade" Firefox so that maybe if that works I can uninstall it!
OK, now that I "upgraded" I could finally uninstall it and am now trying to re-install the 32.0.3 version ..... if Mozilla will let me [it stopped me from re-installing after I followed fintarry's advice]
Now i wish I had simply put up with the easier problem of being urged to upgrade. If I am prevented from re-installing the 32.0.3 version, then I will have to eliminate Firefox!

The Future branch dates chart shows the schedule for the next 8 versions release dates for all of 2015.
In conclusion, if Kaspersky works better on those other browsers - why just use them instead. No sense is getting your self so wound-up over a web browser / security program issue.
Unfortutately, after following finitarry's advice above, the older 32.0.3 Firefox I'd re-installed was disabled, I had to re-install the latest version to uninstall the disabled one, and now Mozilla will not allow me to re-install 32.0.3
So .... Firefox is now out for me, and instead I have to use Chrome or IE, both of which I dislike.
Is there any way I can re-install 32.0.3 ?! [I still have the stub but Firefox won't let it download, switches to the latest "update"]
What has Yahoo Mail got to do with Firefox updates? It makes no sense to me that disabling updates would disable the whole browser, also. If that is the state that Firefox is in now, I am really glad that SeaMonkey is now my default browser. Actually, airider, if you want a nice browser, try SeaMonkey.
Let's say it seriously injured Yahoo [or its interface with Yahoo]:Yahoo Mail started to write double characters for every single one I used for my password, thus wouldn't let me log on, plus a bunch of other stupid stuff, so I closed the 32.0.3 Firefox I was using and got on Yahoo mail through Chrome.
In the end, after not being allowed by Mozilla to re-install 32.0.3, and being forced to use the "upgrade" new version, I am using Chrome & IE.

If you did a clean uninstall (use the OS uninstall, then remove the Firefox program directory), you should be able to reinstall whatever you like. You could also try PaleMoon or Waterfox, if you are using Windows.
