Split page on NYTimes website. When reading an article, if you go to the comments, the page splits, but the left side of the page becomes opaque.
This problem is new since latest Firefox update. Also when you go to the comments, they overlap the main article. It does not do this in IE.

I visited the site and was not able to reproduce this on an XP machine.
In order to better troubleshoot this issue, can you please try the following:
- Does this happen in Safe Mode? Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
- Does it happen when you turn hardware acceleration off?[instructions are below]
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
- Open Firefox Options window (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:
- In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button and select Options for Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.
- In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
- In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the Advanced tab, then select General.
- In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
- Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Thank you.
Tried opening in safe mode, it does not make a difference. The machine is a HP Pavillion ZD7000. It has an NVIDIA graphics, none of the available graphic updates will install.
However, this problem did not occur until the latest Firefox update. I am now running the Beta version 34.
I went to IE and the site shows as it should. Go to one of the editorials on the NY Times web page, then go to the comments on the right, and the left side of the page will turn opaque. You can tell there is some text there, but it is unreadable.
