Installation instructions in FAQ are no longer current at Adobe's download site. Downloaded correct version of Flash and ran install program. Program knew it was installing in FF and asked that I shut off FF. Did so and program ran, saying install completed, but plugin does not appear in list and cannot run speedtest.net, which asks for v.10 of Flash.

You have a current version of Adobe Flash installed. Look in Add-ons > Plugins. The current version is Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.26. Adobe's latest Flash does not show the last 2 digits when the plugins are shown in your posting (click "More system details..." to the right of your original question, scroll to the bottom and look for Shockwave Flash).

You need to update the following. The Plugin version(s) shown below was/were submitted with your question and is/are out of date. You should update to avoid known security issues with the version(s) you have installed. Click on "More system info..." to the right of your question to see what was included with your question.

  • Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5.9.615
  1. Check your plugin versions on either of the following links':
  2. Update Shockwave for Director
    • NOTE: this is not the same as Shockwave Flash; this installs the Shockwave Player.
    • Use Firefox to download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive from the link in the article below (Desktop is a good place so you can find it).
    • When the download is complete, exit Firefox (File > Exit)
    • locate and double-click in the installer you just downloaded, let the install complete.
    • Restart Firefox and check your plugins again.

Perfect. Every bit of info I needed and then some. One problem I had missed was that popup blocker was preventing use of JavaScript on that page (Windows taskbar was hiding it), so you helped me find an operator error.
