How to remove bad saved user name/passord combinations when more than one user name/password combination is listed for the site?
When I sign into some sites, where I have saved usernames and passwords, I get a choice of two user names that are exactly the same. When I choose one user name, the password associated with this name does not work. When I choose the second user name, the password associated with it does work.
I used to be able to go into Firefox options and remove the bad combination. I cannot find a way to do this anymore.
How do I remove the bad username/password from the options given me when I log into a website?

Sometimes a website may change and a previously saved logins may no longer work.
Current Firefox releases also show passwords for sub domains in the drop-down list and that might explain that you were able to select the other entry.
- about:config -> signon.includeOtherSubdomainsInLookup
In case of issues, usually best is to remove unneeded login entries and start anew.

Hi, could you try the steps in the following article: Edit or delete a login with the Firefox Password Manager.
Please let us know whether that works, or whether the article needs further work. Thanks.
This does not work because Lockwise only shows the good login/password combination for the website.
It does not show the bad combination. If it did show the bad combination, then I could delete it.
Could you try this method:
When the drop-down of usernames appears, use the down arrow key on the keyboard to highlight the one you want to remove.
Press Shift+Delete on the keyboard to remove it.
Does that work?
So, if you type/paste the domain in the search bar on the about:logins page you only see one entry as the result ?
I enter the website xxx.com
I see two entries:
One entry shows xxx.com
The other entry shows proofing.xxx.com
The first entry has the wrong password. The second entry has the correct password.
Try to remove both entries and let Firefox once again ask to store the login for this website.
I did this.
When I logged into the site, my user name was already there.
I had to enter the password.
I saved the username and password.
I got into the site.
I looked up the site on the drop down user names.
There was only one entry with the correct username and password.
I logged back into the site with no problems.
I have many websites with this problem, some with four or five choices for user names. Do I need to just delete all of these and start over with the current user name and password?
