Firefox crashes without warning on file upload - how to fix?
When I try to upload a file (multiple websites), firefox crashes without warning, doesn't open crash reporter, about:crashes reveals, "No crash reports have been submitted."
Starting in safe mode yields the same results.
Everything is fine until I move my mouse into the popup window to select my file for upload.
This only started happening in the last day. This is completely repeating everytime. I've downloaded files from these sites before today using firefox with no problems.
The same website upload works from IE/Edge.
I saw another post about Mozilla maintenance, so I unintalled it and set the option to update in the background to not allow this. Still crashes.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

Do Not remove any profile folders.

Thanks for the idea, but...
I used add and remove programs to uninstall firefox. I rebooted. I went to firefox.com and downloaded the latest version.
Still same problem. I don't think the response is any different, but I tried moving slower this time, and I didn't even make it into the file explorer window before it crashed.
I'm on windows 10, so no need for other OS instructions.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
As stated in my original post, safe mode doesn't change anything. Still crashes. This only happens in firefox.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

Okay, windows safe mode passed without a crash. I then retested without safe mode and firefox crashed.
Okay, something about the computer is causing the crashes. As a test, disable your protection programs.
Did the Firefox Crash Reporter come up?
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

When I went to disable the windows defender, I noticed a "app health problem." When I ran the troubleshooter, it said, "your internet temp directory is not in the default location, would you like to reset it?" I said yes, and tested the download again, and no crashes... strange. I wonder what changed th default location of the temp directory.

Unfortunately the problem is back again, and there's no option this time to "fix the default location" as I mentioned previously.
I continued with your previous instructions and could not see any crash reports. I disabled windows defender, allowed firefox to crash, and no crash reports.
Any ideas why it is crashing, given the app health error that seemed to fix it (at least once)? Your windows 10 link above is a generic link to microsoft's website.

I have 2 computers with nearly identical setups. Both the same version of W10 and firefox. Both the same versions of all the major software I use.
On one no crashes. On the other, it crashes. I'm investigating if it could be a windows explorer plugin or extension. But thanks for any additional ideas.
I've got another problem now, that I think is related.
On my websites, my getresponse forms are not loading. They load on edge and chrome, and on my other computer using firefox, but they won't load on this computer using firefox.
I had getresponse test the forms and they showed me they load.
You can see this by going to christianconcepts.com/subscribe (although they will probably load for you... for me they stay with the blue circles revolving around indefinitely).
I've searched for solutions and tried clearing the cache and deleting some cookies, but nothing changes.
