Prior to Firefox updating itslef when I'd create an email I could write or drop a link into the email which would immediately be underlined or hyperlinked. After the update the letters go on the page but are not hyperlinked. The only way to open websites I post in my emails is to copy & paste them ................what happened here ? How may I fix this ? Thanks !

Thanks fellas.........I visited one of my Mustang forums and simply copied a link as experiment where I'd forward to a fellow car enthusiast. This was exactly how I'd used the hyper-link. And.....as advised I pasted the link (to myself) then went below to write a message. The link was not underlined.....but......when it appeared in my email moments later it was hyper-linked and opened to the designated website. Much appreciation and Happy New Year !

If you are using the plain text format, links are not clickable. You must use the HTML format. Check your settings on the message.

Hi jam421, some webmail sites will detect a valid web address and automatically insert the necessary HTML code to make it a clickable link. On other sites, you need to use an "Insert Link" button -- the icon usually features one or two links of a chain -- to create a clickable link. I don't think Firefox 57 would change that, but perhaps it depends on the specific site you're using.

Thanks will check settings. What is confusing is I'd like to permanently have these references hyper linked not with each email. Prior to the Firefox update ALL my links were hyper-linked. On IE they all are and always were hyper-linked. I'm not referring to off beat links......but links off websites I visit every day. They often begin with HTTPS and include sites like Yahoo.....Newspaper articles, UTube.... and every day " hot rod forums" I've visited for many years all of which have and are still cleared by my Norton as safe. For some reason Firefox update shut that off. Is there a place in my Firefox Home Page settings where I can click on " Always Hyperlink ?" Sorry ...I feel very lame about this...Thanks !

Hi jam421, when you paste text with Firefox, Firefox leaves it to the website to handle how it appears in the message.

Firefox 57 changed the kinds of add-ons that can run. You might have been using an extension to "linkify" anything that looks like a valid web address anywhere you see it. This means that for you -- not necessarily the people who receive your messages -- all URLs are turned into clickable links even if the page was not set up that way.

I don't know what extensions are good for that these days. This one is by a long-time developer of Firefox extensions:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/text-link/

Let us know if that helps.
