Firefox window disappears
I am running XP Pro. Many times I have multiple windows open with firefox in multiple tabs. My problem is that the windows can get really erratic with no notice. They will change relative position. Also windows will just disappear from the task bar. Any related answers appreciated.

You could try to need to reset your profile:
See "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems"
if you mean reset firefox tried that and it didn't work after about a day.
Is anyone going to say anything about this?
Apologies for the slow delay 1st I'm currently on Holiday 2nd. We are volunteers not Mozilla Staff just to let you know
I'm going to ask one of the higher volunteers to take a look at your question.
Thanks
There are known issues with windows on XP and your issue has been reported in the past.. If windows get hidden from the Taskbar then try to use Alt+Tab to get access to those windows. Windows will usually position all windows automatically.

I would love it if thei worked but half the time the alt-tab produces pretty little icons and no titles to tell mwhat the window is.
No response and yes I know you are not paid.
still no response for a month.
I too have this problem - in fact one of the reasons I came to FF40 from FF20 was the hope that it wouldn't keep on. No luck. I've tried Alt-Tab, and all I see is a line of Firefox logos with no way of doing anything with them. I can't get a missing window back because it's ... like, missing, and I can't use Alt-Tab on it. If I let go of Tab or touch an arrow key, the little popup pops down again. I'm on XP Pro, with AVG, ZA, WinPatrol, and Spybot S&D/TeaTimer. This is the first time I've ever had a exact (or even near) match to my problem from that type-your-question-here thing, and no-one seems to know what's wrong. Just adding that I use multiple windows but not multiple tabs. The only time I use a tab is when Firefox will only open a tab when clicking on an option from the menus. Why can't there be an option that is the reverse of 'Open new windows as new tabs'? I detest tabs.

Yes. It is like they turn their backs and walk away. Guess they don't like that I mentioned their classic "we don't get paid" line. Imagine if a Red Cross volunteer in a hospital took that line.
